Joseph Lewellyn Wofford

Wofford was a doctor before the war. He became captain of E company of the 13th South Carolina in August 1861, eventually rising to major by June 1863. Wofford was wounded in the thigh at Fredericksburg. As a result of that wound, he resigned on November 4, 1863.

After the war, Wofford served in the South Carolina legislature from 1870 to 1872.
