William Sharp Wallace

A native of Georgia, Wallace was born on November 9, 1828 and lived in Butler before the War. He became captain of company E of the 45th Georgia in March 1862, eventually rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1864. Wallace was wounded during the Seven Days and again at Cedar Mountain. On December 2, 1864, he retired to the Invalid Corps. He also was a member of the Georgia legislature during the War.
