Biography of Samuel G. Shepard

Shepard was born in Lebanon, Tennessee on January 28, 1830. He entered CSA service as captain of G company of the 7th Tennessee Regiment in May 1861. He rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel by April 8, 1863. He served until Appomattox.

Shepard married in 1865. After the War, he was a minister in Wilson County. He died on June 6, 1917 and was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Wilson County.
