Matthew Robert Rogers

Rogers was born in Assumption Parish Louisiana on October 23, 1836. He enlisted as a private in the 2nd Georgia Battalion, then became captain of A company of the 45th Georgia. He eventually rose to the rank of major. Rogers resigned his commission on May 6, 1863. He died in New Orleans in March 1911.
