Jonathan Rivers

Rivers was born in 1831 and lived in Wilkinson County, Georgia before the outbreak of the War. He began his career as a lieutenant in F company of the 3d Georgia, later re-enlisting as a private in A company of the 45th Georgia. He rose to become a lieutenant colonel of that unit by September 1862. Rivers lost a leg at the battle of Chancellorsville and resigned due to disability on June 9, 1863. He died shortly after the War ended.
