Samuel Thomas Player

Player was a lawyer in Irwinton, Georgia before the Civil War. He became captain of A company of the 49th Georgia in March 1862, rising to the rank of colonel June 9, 1863. Player resigned his commission on March 24, 1864 because he had been elected to the Georgia Senate.
