Reuben Battle Nisbet

Nisbet was born in Madison County Georgia on February 6, 1830. Prior to the outbreak of the War, Nisbet was a physican.

He became Captain of B Company (the Brown Rifles) of the 3d Georgia on April 26, 1861. He became the regiment's lieutenant colonel on July 1, 1862. Nisbet was wounded at Malvern Hill. He was wounded again and captured at Sharpsburg. He retired due to his wounds on May 16, 1864. Nisbet died in Eatonton, Georgia on April 10, 1901.
