John Mullins

A native of Tennessee, Mullins was born there in 1829. He attended West Point, graduating in 1854. Posted to the Army, he resigned in 1861 and became a Confederate cavalry captain in March 1861. He became major of the 19th Mississippi in December 1861, rising to the rank of colonel by November 1862. Mullins was wounded during the Seven Days and he resigned in July 1864 due to a severe abdominal wound.

After the War, Mullins lived in Norfolk Virginia. He died on October 3, 1891.

This officer was a member of Posey's Brigade in Anderson's / Mahone's Division.
