Charles Jackson Moffett

Moffett was born in Georgia on May 29, 1834. He attended the University of Georgia, later graduating from Jefferson Medical College with his MD. Prior to the War, Moffett was a farmer and a druggist. He became lieutenant of A company of the 2nd Georgia in the spring of 1861 and rose through the ranks to major by August 2, 1863. Moffett was wounded at both Chancellorsville and Ream's Station.

Post-War, Moffett lived in St. Louis. He then returned to Georgia. He died on March 7, 1907 and was buried in Linwood Cemtery, Columbus, Georgia.
