Biography of Thomas B. Manlove

A native of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Manlove began his Confederate career as a lieutenant in Company G of the 2nd Mississippi Battalion. He eventually rose to the lieutenant colonelcy on November 3, 1862. The Battalion merged with the 48th Mississippi Infantry in early 1863. Manlove was wounded at Sharpsburg and again in the abdomen on February 7, 1865. He was taken prisoner and held until paroled at Varona, Virginia on March 22, 1865.

This officer was a member of Posey's Brigade in Anderson's / Mahone's Division.
