Shotgun's Home of the American Civil War :: A huge resource made up of many invaluable primary sources. Massive amount of materials are contained in this web site. Includes two biographies of A.P. Hill, as well as biographies of many other WBTS notables. You can spend literally hours looking at Shotgun's site and still not see it all.

Snuff Works: The American Civil War :: A beautifully designed site on the War Between the States; covers a wide variety of topics. Causes, northern and southern leaders, maps, and battlefield parks are amongst the topics included. The design for this web site is simply stunning.

Victorian Links :: This site bills itself as "Your Portal to the Victorian World." An awesome collection of links to Victorian era "stuff" including some Civil War materials. A site that contains a ton of interesting stuff for the history buff.

The Civil War News :: The Civil War News "is the only publication giving extensive coverage of preservation issues affecting Civil War sites. Every issue includes coming events, book reviews, letters, researcher's needs, reenactment photos, news, features and columns on collecting, firearms, images and preservation PLUS hundreds of display and classified ads for everything from books, artifacts, research, recruiting and B&Bs to reenactor supplies, events, art and videos." This is an actual print publication. On the web, they include for public access a Civil War on the Internet column, book reviews, a calender of events, and a sampling of stories regarding recent Civil War news.

The Civil War - Scandinavian Site :: A collection of websites, written in both English and Norwegian, focusing on the Civil War. Several different sites are collected here, all of which are very nicely designed. Especially interesting is the "Forgotten Boys of the South" site that chronicles Scandinavians who fought for the Confederate States of America during the War Between the States.

Upcountry South Carolina Heritage :: A look at the 13th South Carolina Regiment, which served in Hill's corps as a member of Gregg's (McGowan's/Perrin's) gallant Gamecock Brigade.

13th Virginia Regiment, Company I :: A look at Hill's first command and regiment in the War Between the States.

Archer's Brigade Homepage :: James Jay Archer's brigade of Tennessee and Alabama troops fought in A.P. Hill's Light Division as well as later in the Third Corps in Heth's Division.

24th and 42nd Virginia Infantry Regiments :: Though not a command directly of A.P. Hill's, the 24th and 42nd Virginia Regiments served in the Army of Northern Virginia and played a distinguished part in the Army's history. Nicely designed and a very cool site to visit.

5th Virginia Regiment :: The 5th Virginia Regiment was a member of Stonewall Jackson's famous "Stonewall Brigade." Site focuses on Company K and includes a roster, history, and information about the reenacting group.

6th South Carolina Regiment :: Website dedicated to the 6th South Carolina. Mainly centered around the reenacting unit, but contains images of the 6th's flag and a short unit history too. Also contains a nice roster of the original members of the unit.

Biographical Sites

Nelson's Sharps Carbine :: Charles Nelson enlisted in a two year New York Infantry regiment, participating in all major and minor engagements from Bull Run to Burnside's Mud March. Mustered out with his regiment while the army marched to Chancellorsville, he enlisted as sergeant in a New York cavalry regiment six months later. His new regiment arrived in time to participate in the Wilderness Battle with disastrous results. Wounded during the Wilson Raid, Charles followed his regiment to the Shenandoah Valley where he served in Custer's Third Division. Site contains history on Nelson, both regiments and photos of the Sharps carbine he carried.

Cincinnati Civil War Round Table :: This site is one nice site, with a lot of information on Ohio in the Civil War. "Past Presentations" is a gold mine of Civil War articles. Don't forget to check out the Online Book Store on site; proceeds are donated to Civil War battlefield preservation efforts.

Virginia Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy :: A heritage organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the valor of the Confederate soldier. The site has a very nice design and lots of links to other Virginia generals on the web.

Indiana Division - United Daughters of the Confederacy :: Heritage organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the memory of the courage of the Southern soldier in the War Between the States. Chapter is named for Bedford Forrest.

The Pickett Society :: This Richmond, Virginia based organization is dedicated to furthering the study of Confederate General George E. Pickett, a division level commander under Longstreet. The site contains a nice historical section on General Pickett as well as some very nice photographs as well.
