John F. Jones
Jones was a graduate of the Georgia Military Insitute. He became lieutenant of H company in the 3d Georgia in April 1861, rising to the rank of major by July 1862. Jones lost his right arm at Chancellorsville and in August 1864, he retired to the invalid corps.
After the War, Jones served as the Chief Clerk to the Georgia
Secretary of State. He died in Atlanta some time around 1889.
