Ross R. Ihrie

A native of Easton, Pennsylvania, Ihrie was born on March 24, 1828. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1850. He was practicing medicine in Chatham County, North Carolina when the war broke out.

Ihrie became captain of Company M of the 15th North Carolina in April 1861. He rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel by June, but was defeated at the May 1862 reorganization. Ihrie later served as colonel of a Home Guard regiment. He died in Pittsboro, North Carolina on June 28, 1889.
