Henry Campbell Davis

Born in Columbia on August 6, 1823, Davis graduated from South Carolina College in 1844, then served a term in the South Carolina legislature from 1858 to 1860. He also was a member of the Secession Convention. He became captain of C company of the 12th Regiment in August 1861, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel. Davis was wounded at Sharpsburg. He retired based on a surgeon's certificate on November 17, 1863. He then served a term in the South Carolina legislature.

Davis died on August 27, 1886. He is buried in Ridgeway, South Carolina.
