Francis Eugene Harrison

A native of Andersonville, Harrison was born in the Palmetto State on April 29, 1821. He attended the University of Virginia, then became a planter. He married twice before the War.

On July 20, 1861, Harrison became captain of D company of the Rifles. Wounded at Gaines Mill, he rose to the rank of colonel by May 5, 1863. He retired to the Invalid Corps on April 8, 1864 and died on November 19, 1874.
