Henry Holcomb Harper

Harper enlisted as captain of I company of the 14th South Carolina in July 1861, eventually rising to the rank of major in late 1863. He was wounded four times during the War and was imprisoned for several months at Fortress Monroe. After the War, he was a Lowndeville farmer. Harper served in the South Carolina state legislature in 1856 to 1861 and from 1878 to 1880.
