Robert Harper Gray

Gray was born on January 10, 1831. He began his career as captain of L company of the 22d North Carolina. He eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel to date from June 13, 1862.

Gray died of disease on March 16, 1863 near Fredericksburg. He was buried at Hopelwell Churchyard in Randolph County.
