Thomas Spraggins Galloway, Jr

Born on June 18, 1840, Galloway attended the University of North Carolina, then graduated from VMI at the outbreak of the War as a member of the class of 1861. He became the major of the 22d North Carolina in July, but was defeated at the June 1862 reorganization. He then became a captain in the 45th North Carolina for a time before being appointed colonel of the 22d in September 1863. Galloway served as colonel until Appomattox.

After the War, Galloway married and became a lawyer in Somerville, Tennessee. He died on May 23, 1903.
