Biography of Robert Warren Folsom

Folsom was born on August 28, 1835. He was a doctor before the War and was unmarried at the time of his Confederate enlistment.

He became captain of G company of the 14th Georgia on July 9, 1861, eventually rising to the rank of colonel on October 23, 1862.

On the morning of May 6, 1864, while leading his regiment in a counter-charge at the battle of the Wilderness, Folsom was mortally wounded. He lingered for 18 days, dying in Richmond on May 24, 1864. He is buried in Hollywood Cemetery.
