Robert Bruce Fauntleroy

Born in 1832, Fauntleroy was a graduate of the University of Maryland's medical school. He became a lieutneant in Company C of the 55th Virginia on June 2, 1861. While serving as captain, he was wounded at Chancellorsville. Fauntleroy was promoted to major on August 19, 1864.

Fauntleroy served a term in the Virginia legislature from 1863 to 1865. After the War, he was a doctor and farmer in Middlesex County. He died in 1907.
