Thomas Stobo Farrow

Born in the Laurens District on October 12, 1832, Farrow attended South Carolina College and was a lawyer in Spartanburg before the War. He became a captain in C company of the 13th South Carolina in August 1861 following a stint as a lieutenant with the Spartanburg Rifles. He eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel by June 1862. Farrow was wounded at Second Manassas. He resigned on January 6, 1863 to become the Commissioner of Equity for the Spartanburg District.

Post-war, Farrow became a lawyer in Atlanta and in Spartanburg. In 1885, he moved to Washington DC and became an auditor with the War Department. He was still living in Washington at the turn of the century.
