Biography of Bartley Barry Boone

Boone was born in Lincoln County Tennessee on April 6, 1831. He began his Confederate career as captain of A Company of the 2nd Mississippi Regiment. Boone became the regiment's colonel on May 10, 1861. He was captured at First Manassas and resigned due to ill health on January 31, 1862.

After the War, Boone established the city of Booneville, Mississippi. He also served as a judge in Prentiss County. He died in the town bearing his name on September 19, 1905.
