Lorenzo Dare Andrews

Andrews was born in Randolph County in 1829 and was a teacher there prior to the War. He enlisted as a lieutenant in H company of the 38th North Carolina in November 1861, rising to the rank of major by April of 1862. He resigned his commission on August 21, 1862. Andrews married after the War and died in 1908. He is buried in Monroe Cemetery in Union County.
